Dry Run Project

Over the years Dry Run Ditch has filled in with silt and debris loosing much of its capacity. A project is now being considered to cleanout Dry Run and improve the flow and flood capacity along the ditch. This in turn will hopefully provide for efficient movement of storm water throughout the system.

The area being considered for this project runs from 25th Street downstream to Georgetown Road. The estimated cost is $300,000 and will be funded by a bond issue.

In addition to the cleanout several options are being discussed to enhance the natural and aesthetic qualities of the ditch. This information can be viewed by clicking on the files below.

If you have questions or comments concerning this project be sure and attend the Storm Water Management Board meetings or send an email to stormwater@speedwayutilities.org

This project has gone to bid. The bids will be opened at 7:15 PM on Monday, August 28, 2006 at the regularly scheduled meeting of the Speedway Town Council. To view the engineers detailed plans and drawings of this project click HERE.

bulletThe town received two bids. Both bids were well over the engineers estimate for this project. The Town Council per recommendation of the Storm Water Management Board decided to reject both bids and reevaluate the scope of the project.
