Yard waste recycling program will begin on April 3,2006. Each resident must separate yard vegetation - grass clippings, leaves, brush & twigs - from regular solid waste. Yard vegetation must be placed in reusable containers or biodegradable paper bags. NO RECEPTACLE MAY EXCEED 50 LBS. IN WEIGHT.

A REMINDER

Ray's Trash Service will not pickup yard waste
 
The Street Dept in Picking Up Yard Waste, We Average 900 Tons a Year.
We Start Full Time Yard Waste Pickup April 7, Monday thru Friday, and will Go thru December 5th.

WHY YOUR YARD WASTE WAS NOT PICKUP

Cans or Bags over 50 Lbs.

NO Pick-up on Legal Holidays
NO Handles on Cans.                                   
NO Animal Waste in Cans or Bags.                                            
NO Trash Mixed in Cans or Bags.
NO Tied with Wire.
Cans not Marked or Identified as Yard Waste.
NO Branches over 6" in Diameter.
Branches over 1' ft. out of top cans. ( This is for the safely of all employees )
NO Plastic Bags.
Items such as weight, branches of 6" diameter and protruding from containers are mostly for safety factors for personnel.

 

   
     
Things you can do
Use bio-degradable paper bags or Reusable garbage cans Identified as yard waste cans.
Each container may not weigh over 50 lbs. Handles on cans.
No containers larger than 35 gallons.
Flower and vegetable garden waste acceptable.
Branches too large to be bagged should be cut into three (3) foot lengths and tied with string not wire.
Make cans or bags seen from street.

Option 3 Curbside Pickup
You Can Put Out Grass Clippings
Leaves, Brush, Twigs & Branches
MUST BE SEPARATED FROM YOUR REGULAR TRASH

  • 5615 West 38th Street [just west of the intersection of West 38th Street and Moller Road;  accessible from I-465 by going east at the 38th Street exit;  the container is at the Kroger supermarket parking lot.] 
  • Northwestway Park, 5253 West 62nd Street [the container is at the southeast corner of West 62nd Street and Moller Road.] 
  • 5026 Crawfordsville Road [the Speedway Super Center shopping area;  the container is at the south of Kroger supermarket location, in front of the National City Bank location.]
  • 8150 Rockville Road [the northwest corner of Rockville Road and Country Club Road;  the container is directly south of the Kroger supermarket, visible from Rockville Road.]
